Hi,
I've made a blunder which I find I cannot correct,
I right clicked on a link and selected "copy shortcut" which I then pasted to my decktop.
Now I have this displayed on my decktop

I, can' use restore due to my clock going haywire yesterday and changing to 2099
right clicking on the image does not allow delete or cut

Help

Albie

PS if I explore it does not appear in the desktop in docs and settings

Hi Albie,

Right-click on desktop - 'Properties'

Select the Desktop tab, then 'Web'

Delete the page on displayed on your desktop.

Albie has your clock time been corrected now and staying correct ?

If it keeps changing it could be a sign that the cmos battery is on its way out .... or could be a virus onboard so keep an eye on it.

Incorrect time and date can also cause signing in to programs/websites to fail and windows updates to also fail.

If these were "nasties" found on the PC, don't forget to "FIRST" create a new Restore point, followed by using the Disk Cleanup option and also selecting to remove "All but the most recent restore points"

The last thing you would want to do is at a later date use the restore option and then replace the previously removed files.
