My OS is XP Pro and yesterday I added a new Epson Printer to the system, everything appeared ok! Today, whatever I do an error mesage box appears with the title: Windows-No Disc The content of the message reads: Exception Process Message c0000013parameters 75b6bF7c475b6bF7c75b6bF7c Under this I have the option buttons "Cancel" (Doesn't work!) "Try Again" (Doesn't work!) "Continue" (Doesn't work!) If I click repeatedly on the (x) in the top right hand corner the box disappears for about 10 seconds, then reappears! I would appreciate some assistance, Peter.

| Are you getting this message after Windows has booted and the 'desktop' is displayed, or is it appearing even before Windows is running properly? If Windows has booted, are you able to take a screenshot of what is actually appearing on the screen? _________________ Mike

Message appears when desktop is visible without selecting any programmes. Do not know how to take a screenshot? Peter.

Since compiling the original posting I have removed 2 of the programmes that were automatically loaded from the installation disc since they were doing the same as other programmes already installed. I feel that somewhere along the line there was a conflict of interests because the warning box has not re-appeared! Thankyou for trying to help, I appreciate it. Regards, Peter.

File Manager and Create Photo both from Epson. The printer is an Epson SX400. Peter

Following the comments from "oldfogy" on my posting about the "My Music" folder, I am sure he is correct as regards the ports chosen by the software, which in turn fouled up the other parts of my PC. I, a layperson, just do not realise how much everything is interconnected! Peter

The message has returned but this time it has "No Disc" in the Blue section at the top of the warning message. What happens is this: From my Photography folders (I have been a fanatic since December 1958) I used to be able to click on an image and it would automatically open with Microsoft Picture Manager. Now I get this irritating box that will not disappear even when "Cancel" or "Continue" or "Try Again" is clicked, the same applies to the "Close" cross in the top Right hand corner! I have to hit the Left hand mouse button repeatedly in quick succession on "Close" or "Cancel" to make any difference! I am beginning to wonder if the installation of a new printer was worth the hassle! Regards, Peter.

Hi Peter, Right-click on any picture file, then choose 'open with' from the menu. Then select 'choose program' from the menu. Scroll down the list of programs that are suitable and choose your program. Make sure you tick the box to 'always use this program'. Hopefully, that will stop your system from looking for a program on a disk. _________________ I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat.

Dave, it is really that simple! Why didn't I think of that? It works brilliantly now, many thanks for the information. Regards, Peter.

All that had happened was that one of the programs you removed had set itself as the default program for opening picture files. Some programs do that, although you should get an option not to. Good to have success in fixing it. _________________ I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat.
