PostSubject: Battery?   Sat Aug 01, 2009 3:13 pm

Using XP Pro. I was informed by a neighbour that the reason my PC clock always lost time was because my battery needs replacing!

If this is the case, where is it located and is it an easy process to replace?

Regards, Peter.

PS I am using an Asus book something or other server!

Hi Peter,

If your clock is running slow, it's almost certain that you will need to replace your CMOS battery.

See this video ...

PS : I've never changed a battery on a Notebook, so perhaps someone else can give more details.
It might not be as simple as a desktop PC.
Your manual should give you instructions.
If you don't have a manual, you should be able to download a PDF manual from the Asus website.
First check to get details of your model number.

I googled for Asus manuals, see here ....

Many thanks for all the effort.

At least I know now what to do, it is just a question of when!

The inside of the unit gives me the heebeegeebees!

I shall consult my son, he is into computers!

Thanks again, Peter.
