Is it just me or is the "Search" facility in Vista about as much use as a chocolate teapot? On the occasions that I've tried to find a file, it seems to have failed miserably. XP's search by comparison comes up trumps every time. Question

See what you think to this one Mike. It is quicker than windows. (On XP anyway).

I don't have Vista myself, but I was working on a customer's PC with Vista yesterday. Although the layout was very different, I didn't have any real problem with using search.

I used the WinKey+F shortcut, don;t know if that brings up any different to what you've been using Mike.

Thanks - that is brilliant and incredibly fast. Now I can actually find what I'm looking for! Smile

I've just done that and picking at random the file "TrueImage.exe", which should be the executable file to run Acronis True Image, it actually finds two files on my hard drive - the original installation files for T.I.version10 and T.I.version11 but not the file I would want it to find. Question

I do, but it hasn't indexed very many files. I've tweaked the settings so will see if that makes any difference.

I've downloaded that thanks Bob. I'll be giving it a tryout later.
