You could also take a look in
msconfig and see if you can spot anything that doesn't look "normal" ..... google the names of the processes you see, if you come up with any that are suspicious untick the box so they won't run on startup .... (make a note of anything you uncheck so you can recheck if need be)
then reboot, tick the
ok box that appears after reboot and try to get your anti virus program installed.
To get to
msconfig: click
start/all programs/accessories/run type in the box
msconfig and hit
ok,select the
startup tab in the window that opens
