Hi All,
My Mesh desktop appears to have given up the ghost this morning. Luckily no data has been lost, only just backed up!
Symptoms
Booted OK this morning but after a while went into hibernation with no interaction. Now the green power light flickers and nothing happens on trying to switch on. Tried plugging in directly instead of through my intellipanel just in case but no luck.
I have a suspicion that it may be the PSU but who knows.
My motherboard is K9N SLI Platinum Series MS-7250 (V1.X) Mainboard Athlon dual core and the PC is probably about 5 years old.
Do you think it might be worth repairing or should I bit the bullet and just replace it. I've read some not too favourable comments about Mesh lately does anyone have any recommendations?
I would want to make use of my hard disks. I came across thsi on EBUYER Zoostorm Advanced Desktop PC Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz 8GB RAM 1TB HDD DVD Writer Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit for less than £400. Anyone know anything about Zoostorm?

Albie

If it is a good PC that you like, and you have a good PC builder/repairer locally, it might be worth having it checked out to see if it's just the PSU.

My needs are very basic and I've never bought a particularly expensive PC, so I'm currently using an Acer with a 2.5GHz processor, 3GB of RAM and running Windows 7 64-bit; cost was just over £300.

It is my understanding that Mesh went into administration but, even before that, they did seem to have serious "customer complaint" issues that weren't being satisfactorily resolved.

I've heard of Zoostorm and haven't come across any adverse comments, but that's all.

Thanks Mike,
After due consideration I've decided to replace the PC, it hasn't been at full capacity for a few years, only one channel on MB working. The new one I picked out has gone by the wayside, when I looked closer at the detail there was no DVI interface which was needed for one of my monitors so I had to move up a level.

Maybe not the place to mention this but can I install my old SATA Hard disks as well as the main HD, (there are 2 spare SATA leeds) and use one old C:\ to enable dual boot to XP without reinstalling? The second is purely devoted to Video for which I use an old version of Pinnacle which I'm not sure if it would work in W7.

You won't be able to 'transplant' a hard drive from one PC into another and then boot Windows from it. The operating system would have to be reinstalled so as to be compatible with the different hardware.
