Hi my sister has bought a "mac computer" and she wants to do all her banking etc on it she is so used to having antivirus & antispyware on a XP computer so is the mac safer than windows without this software or can someone advise her of good antivirus/spyware for mac paid or free.

The majority of Mac users, myself included, don't use AntiVirus or Antispyware applications. There are a few internet "nasties" that can affect the Mac's Unix based operating system, but these are nowhere nearly as prolific as the malicious code targeted at Windows.

I probably do about 90% of my web browsing, including banking, with Mac OS X.
