PostSubject: flash player   Thu Mar 05, 2009 7:33 am

I have a game that is asking me to install flash player 8 or above.

Everything else I have plays OK.

Is the plugin for flash player (which is installed) the actual program or is just a 'helper' for installing the program proper?

I have been into Adobe to install flash player 10 and get the window which only gives me the option to save file not run it- adobe asks that you run the file from the web page. I saved it and installed but nothing seemed to happen and I still just have plug in.

Of course the game itself might be faulty.

Thanks for advice. Zante.

If you go to Adobe's website, the top of their page is a "Flash Player" animation. Right clicking it should display "About Adobe Flash Player 10" if it has been installed properly.

Mine said "About Adobe Flash Player 9", so I updated to version 10 by downloading the file to the PC, closing all browsers (Firefox in my case) and installing it. The Adobe site now says "About Adobe Flash Player 10".

OK I've doen that thanks Mike and it tells me that I have Adobe 10 installed so with that and that fact that everything else is working OK I would have to think that the game itself is corrupted or something so I will uninstall it and reinstall and see if that makes a difference. I'll come back and let you know how I go/ Zante. PS might not be until tomorrow!

I have done the above - made no difference so I have emailed the games support people and am awaiting their reply Zante.

Mike I have a reply back from games people this morning and they are asking me for my system specifications and they will contact the developer to see if this problem relates to my PC. Is this an OK thing to do under the circumstances - I'm not that fussed about the game - I can live without it -but I would just like to know what the problem is! Zante

Nothing lost by telling them Zante.

Download Belarc Advisor from here and let that produce you a system detail report.

Zante is this on a Vista pc that you are trying to play this game?

I am not sure completely of whats happening when you try to launch the game but Vista can give some weird messages sometimes and it's always worth trying the "run as admin" command incase this is the problem.

Basically right click on the games icon or setup file and select "run as administrator" .

If you are not running Vista then disregard
