Ashampoo Winoptimizer 2009 is free to a certain magazines readers only, but I Googled the name of the program and on page two of a Google search:

I recently ran Ccleaner properly after some instructions from this site and it went fine compared to when i tried to muddle through on my own.

I have just downloaded win op 2009 but it frightens me as i do not understand a lot of the features.

Would it be possible for someone who understands these programs to put together a step by step guide for us less computer literate.

(i think my signature sums me up)

Although it's not foolproof but always create a "System Restore Point" before installing and running any program.

Firstly, Before actually running the program, find and checkout the programs Rescue/Restore options and make sure it is active. (Create a manual rescue point if possible)

Secondly, always try new programs only with the default settings until you are confident enough to try changing the settings.

Yes, these are the settings that the program first shows when opened and which the original programmer "considers as safe"
