PostSubject: ping ICMP Echo   Wed Oct 15, 2008 6:10 pm

i have a router ...does it matter if ping can be seen by other pc's as its seeing the router not the pc ..

i have done shields up test and it get's a Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests..but its the router not the pc as comodo firewall blocks it..

I don't think that's right CK. I use Zone Alarm, plus there's a firewall in the router (you probably have one too). The result I get is this:

Your system has achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating. Not a single packet — solicited or otherwise — was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet.

Maybe Comodo isn't so good?

There should be a setting within your router's configuration pages to change whether or not it responds to pings. As you say, it will be your public IP address that is ping'd and not the LAN address allocated to the PC.
