I've come across the inability to "save" a modified Hosts file somewhere else recently and suggested this solution - save the amended file under a different name, something like "Hosts1.txt" then rename the original Hosts file to Hosts.old and change the modified file back to Hosts (with no extension).

In at least some cases, the inability to save a modified hosts file is because some users forget to untick the "read only" attribute.
Like I did ... until I remembered. Very Happy

I got rid of the latest intellitxt blight by adding the extra lines provided by exo to my hosts file.

The lines that worked were those for "vibrantmedia".

Having tested it on the PC Advisor website, I now know that it is the noscript add on for Firefox which is blocking them. It also blocks all the adverts which is nice

I think users coming in via vnunet are seeing it but not if you enter the site via CA .... I always use CA and not seeing it ..... tried via Spits' link above and could then see the "green" text and ads.

I'm using IE 7 on Vista with just IE's built in popup blocker .... no special ad - blocking software.

Cool
