Welcome Gunnersluver .... I'm sure Mike and some of the others will be able to help.

Basically I was wondering, and I expect Gunnersluver is too, if this alert from Norton means that is has blocked the threat from entering his pc or ,as it seems to be coming from his own computer, does it mean that something has already got in Question

A google search reveals this is quite a common alert of late .

Appreciate any further help or suggestions guys.

Anne

It doesn't mean a thing to me, I'm afraid. Sad

It's possible that Norton has gone a bit gun-ho with what it considers to be a threat. I have long since lost faith in Norton, and it wouldn't be the first time it was misbehaving is this is the case. The sudden intrusion alerts probably follow an update to Norton, they may be false positives.

I can't offer any help though - I don't have Norton.

Okey doke ... no worries Mike Wink

You could be right on the "false positive" Dave .... I was just a bit intrigued by the way his own pc seemed to be the source of the threat and having no further input on CA I thought somebody here may be able to shed a little more light.

Hopefully the extra online scans can offer a little more reasurrance of no infection on the pc.
