| Friends, I am an ardent fan of photography and visit galleries around the world to experience and give constructive critique on others images. Until IE8 was automatically installed if I wanted to view a larger image, all I needed to do was click on the image and a new window would appear with the enlarged image. I have tried disabling the blocking of "pop-ups" but it makes no difference, I set the "Internet Options" to open in a new window but still no change! I have updated the Windows Java and downloaded the Java set-up from Sun Systems, but still no joy! (I did this because if I hover the cursor over the original image "javascript:;" appears at the left hand bottom side of the screen, sometimes accompanied by nil, 0 or void) Using XP Pro as my OS. Regards, Peter. |

| Peter, sorry can't help with that particular problem, "probably another reason why I still use IE6" However, I also use Firefox, which if a picture is right clicked gives the option of seeing a larger version when selecting the "View Image" option. _________________ If it ain't broke. | There isn't a setting which will open every link in a new tab (or new window.) As far as I know, this has never been the case in either Firefox or IE. Images that open in a new window are usually controlled by the code used in the web page you are looking at. You can use Ctrl+click for a tab or Shift+click for a new window. Or, right-click on the link and choose from the context menu. _________________ I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat. |

I don't think the problem is opening a new window. _________________ If it ain't broke. Don't fix it.

| [quote="malvachat"] Thanks for that, it certainly is a good add-on "even works with FF 3.0.11" (not got around to
fixing updating it yet) _________________ If it ain't broke. Don't fix it.

| FF 3.0.12 is out if your still on that series. Support stops in January I think. I can get most extensions to work with 3.5 with a fix.It involves changing the max number by opening the xpi file using winzip. Then opening the install.rdf file with notepad. You then look for <em:maxVersion> code under firefox and change it.Close and say yes to the changes. There are a couple of <em:maxVersion> codes so you might have to try different ones till you get it to work.keeping a copy of you original xpi file safe of course. Of course you need the xpi file. Using FEBE backup extension before you upgrade gives you all your extensions to play with when you upgrade. http://customsoftwareconsult.com/extensions/febe/febe.htmlI ran 3.5 beta portable for a while and was able to get all the extensions I use ready for when 3.5 came out. ---------------- Now playing: Weezer - Don't Let Govia FoxyTunes_________________ Beer is for life not just Christmas. |

| Sorry Dave, age makes the old grey matter a bit lackadaisical at times. (forgetful) Although the FF Zoom add-on (from link above) does work, on a couple of images I have tried it on so-far, were not very good as they became very pixilated. But still appreciated as it's still better than no zoom at all. _________________ If it ain't broke. Don't fix it.

Hope you've updated to 3.0.12 here's why.

Having been on 3.5 for a while now and got used to all the new toys. I really think it's the bees. I tried out Chrome again the other day. It's good, but without my drag and drop and top to botton extensions I'm a bit lost._________________ Beer is for life not just Christmas. |

| You can, of course, zoom any image by copying it and pasting it into a photo edting program. Most will be pixelated at some stage, especially if the image has been embedded into the web page at a smaller size. _________________ I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat. |

| Thankyou for the responses, the problem still exists but I am reducing my visits to a particular site that has always presented problems. Much appreciate all the ideas, Peter. |
