PostSubject: Automatic email address   Tue May 19, 2009 1:12 pm

I am using XP and previously was with TISCALI. On completing online forms that required my email address, my TISCALI address would pop-up automatically, which made life a little bit easier. Now, however, I am with BT but the old TISCALI address still keeps popping up. Is there a way of changing some setting so that my current email address pops up instead of my old address?

Open Outlook Express and go to Tools/Accounts from the menu.

Select your BT address and click on the button to make it the Default account.

If you are no longer using the Tiscali mail account, you could remove it.

If you are using Outlook or another email client, the procedure will be almost the same.

Thanks for that, but I had all ready got BT as my default and I had deleted all references to TISCALI. So, something else must be triggering it

I assume you are using Internet Explorer.

In IE, from the mneu, Tools/Internet Options.

Then in the 'programs' tab, make sure that you have Outlook Express set as your email client.

If Outlook Express has the correct default mail account, and your default email client is set as above, then you should get the right mail account when using online forms.

If this doesn't sort it, try clearing your temporary internet files (cache).

It's possible this is related to "auto complete" and "saved passwords and user names on forms."

This is found in Internet Explorer browser, top menu Tools/Internet Options/Content tab settings.

You'll likely need to delete or clear auto complete history.
